If you enjoy spending time outdoors going for walks, but prefer something not too strenuous, in Rotaliana Königsberg you can find options that are perfect for you. Beautiful walks await you, some flat and others with gentle slopes, also suitable for children, during which you can admire woods, mountains, hills, rivers, and countryside.
Here are 6 walks that we also recommend to those who are less trained!
1. THE WHITE ASPARAGUS TRAIL - Zambana
Entirely flat, this route will lead you to discover the places where one of the most famous typical products of the Piana Rotaliana is cultivated: the white asparagus of Zambana. You will cross several asparagus fields but also apple orchards, vineyards, and the small village of Zambana Vecchia. Here you will discover the history of its inhabitants and you can take a break in the charming park of the Church of SS. Filippo and Giacomo, at the foot of the Paganella, a building that historically withstood the great landslide of 1954. This route can be covered both on foot and by bicycle, even with small children and strollers, discovering step by step, thanks to information panels, the history and peculiarities of this product, which has found its place of choice in fertile soil, at the confluence of the Adige river and the Noce stream.
2. "CANOPI" MINING TRAIL | Masen - Faedo
Discover the charm of ancient medieval mines through this dirt hiking trail immersed in greenery. Almost entirely shaded and located in the woods, this trail offers a pleasant walk through varied landscapes and breathtaking views. Inspired by the "canòpi", the miners who once sought copper and silver in this area, the route is enriched by beautiful sculptures, information panels on local legends, and fun wooden installations, making it ideal for children too (but not for strollers, due to slopes and steps).
3. TORESELA LOOP - Mezzolombardo
Discover an enchanting corner of Mezzolombardo with an easy circular walk suitable for everyone that starts from the heart of its historic center. From here, a short but slightly steep path will lead you to Colle San Pietro, where you will find the oldest church in the village, immersed in an atmosphere of quiet and history. Continuing, you will reach the new Suspension Bridge, an exciting 130-meter structure that is among the longest in Italy. After crossing the bridge, the panoramic tower called Toresela awaits you, an ideal place for a relaxing break. The descent will then easily take you back to the starting point in the town of Mezzolombardo.
4. AVISIO MOUTHS LOOP - Lavis
Discover a charming and easy flat route along the Avisio stream that will lead you to the suggestive "Foci dell'Avisio" provincial nature reserve. The trail, which winds almost entirely along the banks of the stream, starts from the town center of Lavis, at the Giardino dei Ciucioi. From here, you will enter a protected area up to the mouth of the stream, where its waters join the Adige river. Along the way, you can alternate sections of cycle and pedestrian paths with more adventurous trails in the stream bed, an area of great environmental importance as it is a popular stopping point for numerous migratory birds.
5. SLOW PACE ALONG THE NOCE - Mezzolombardo
This route allows you to fully experience the right bank of the Noce stream, north of the village of Mezzolombardo. The ground is gravel, wide and even: perfect even if you have strollers or wheelchairs with you. Along the way, you will find 4 picnic areas on the embankment, complete with tables and fountains. Along the route, there are also educational panels that tell you many interesting facts about the surrounding area: from local flora and fauna to the history and agricultural traditions of the area. Along the riverbed, you can stop and relax in the sun on large boulders and explore the islets and the surrounding environment via small bridges.
6. LOOP BETWEEN SKYWALK AND SUSPENSION BRIDGE - Monte di Mezzocorona
Easily reachable thanks to the cable car, this circular walk of less than 3 km offers you authentic adrenaline by making you cross the most exciting attractions of this location! Starting from the upper station of the cable car, you can easily reach the suspension bridge that crosses the deep Valle della Villa, then continue and return to the Monte locality, where expanses of green meadows and a playground for children await you. You will then conclude the walk by reaching the last stop, the Skywalk, a panoramic platform that will give you the sensation of walking in the void, given its tempered glass floor. An unmissable route for those seeking strong emotions and want to test their courage!
7. SAT500/507 TRAIL TO MALGA KRAUN - Monte di Mezzocorona
This route is simple and accessible to everyone, given the slight elevation gain. It will allow you to reach Malga Kraun (open every weekend in October) in less than two hours, starting from Monte di Mezzocorona. The route develops mostly on a forest road, and walking along it, you can truly immerse yourself in nature. Arriving at the Malga Kraun refuge, in addition to seeing numerous animals, you can enjoy a well-deserved lunch based on typical recipes, or a sweet and tasty snack. Alternatively, a large green clearing awaits you, perfect for a picnic surrounded by nature.
