giro del vino 50

A 55 km loop with 600 m of elevation connecting the Piana Rotaliana with the Avisio and Faedo hills.

You can ride the Giro del Vino 50 all year round along cycle paths, secondary roads, and country lanes, passing through villages, vineyards, and forests, surrounded by the valley’s rocky walls.

ONE ROUTE, TWO LOOPS

The route is divided into two sections: the northern loop, flat and fast, and the southern loop, more challenging due to the hill climbs and elevation gain, but also more scenic.

You can start from any point, but the Giro must be ridden counterclockwise, following the dedicated directional signage.

The route is not technically difficult, but some stretches are steep and narrow. If you’re not very fit or are riding a regular bike instead of an e-bike, you may need to push your bike by hand in a few short sections.

Along the tour, information panels mark points of interest nearby and provide insights into the landscape and local wine production.

PLAN YOUR STOPS

Between rides, you can stop at wineries, distilleries, and farms, or choose from bistros, restaurants, and agriturismi in the area. These are either directly on the route or reachable via short detours. We recommend booking in advance.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

We do not recommend using a road bike, as some sections are on gravel. A minimum tyre width of 32 mm is recommended.

We do not recommend it, as some short sections run along the road or are quite narrow. In addition, the southern loop includes some significant climbs.

The route can be ridden all year round, especially from March to November. Thanks to the low altitude, persistent snow is rarely an issue. However, the best seasons remain spring and autumn, when temperatures are milder. In summer it can be quite hot.

The entire route does not require any particular technical skills, especially if ridden with an e-bike. However, there are some sections on the southern loop with steeper gradients, where a basic level of fitness is recommended.

The e-bike charging points currently available to the public are located at the following private facilities:
Bicigrill Bike Break, Loc. Masetto 13, San Michele all’Adige
Hotel Sartori’s, Via Nazionale 33, Lavis
Hotel Caffè Centrale, Piazza San Gottardo 2, Mezzocorona
Cassa di Trento, Lavis branch, Via A. Rosmini 61 (charging station provided by Neogy)

We estimate that riding the 55 km of the Giro del Vino 50 takes about 4–5 hours of riding time. The total time may vary greatly, depending especially on the number and duration of stops along the way. We recommend dedicating at least a full day to fully enjoy the landscapes, the many points of interest, and the wineries along the route.
