There are numerous places in Rotaliana Königsberg from which you can enjoy suggestive and unexpected panoramas. This corner of Trentino will indeed surprise you with 360° views of expanses of vineyards, majestic mountains, and the waterways that cross it. Whether you are nature lovers, history enthusiasts, or simply seeking peace and tranquility, in this article, we will explore the 5 best panoramic viewpoints that absolutely must be part of your itinerary when you visit our territory!
TOR DI VISIONE (Tower of Vision)
If you are looking for a completely new perspective, the panoramic point for you is the Tor di Visione. To reach it, start on foot from Rocchetta, a locality that, after the town of Mezzolombardo, acts as a pass to the Val di Non, from where you ascend for just over 1 hour via path 516B with an elevation gain of about 385m. The route is short but very steep; however, once at the top, the view that opens up onto the Piana Rotaliana, with its famous vineyards, and the Val di Non amply repays every effort.
BORGO DI FAEDO (Village of Faedo)
The panorama you enjoy from the 600 meters altitude of the small village of Faedo is unique: in front of you are the Paganella, Monte di Mezzocorona, and the Brenta Dolomites, while below lies the Piana Rotaliana. Reach the historic center by car or bicycle from San Michele all'Adige through hills of orderly rows of vines. Here you can visit the numerous family-run wineries or, if you like walking, you can try the Masen-Faedo Mining Trail.
MONTE DI MEZZOCORONA
Monte di Mezzocorona, located at 891m above sea level, is the ideal destination to regenerate in a suggestive setting surrounded by greenery and not far from the villages in the valley floor.
We recommend reaching it on foot by choosing one of these 3 routes:
If you don't want to exert yourself, you can also comfortably get there with the Monte di Mezzocorona Cable Car. Once at the top, you'll find two adrenaline-pumping attractions overlooking the Rotaliana Königsberg: the SkyWalk and the Suspension Bridge. To fully enjoy the tranquility of this place, we recommend visiting on weekdays.
COLLINE AVISIANE (Avisio Hills)
These hills extend from Lavis to San Michele all'Adige and are characterized by the typical geometries of the vines and a collection of rural roads and houses, the masi, which belong to the Trentino farming history and speak of flavors and knowledge, genuine hospitality, and authentic agriculture. A panoramic walk among masi, wineries, and vineyards is a journey through the places where some of Trentino's most prestigious wines are produced today.
To fully enjoy these landscapes, we suggest a short and varied circular itinerary of about 1 hour and 40 minutes and 4.7km long, which connects the center of Lavis to these vine-covered hills, first reaching Maso Franch, with its view of the Val di Cembra, and then taking a short stretch through the woods that leads to Maso Clinga (Pressano).
BELVEDERE GIUEL
You can reach it via a woodland path of about 3km (SAT 602C) which leads from the Piani di Mezzolombardo locality to Fai della Paganella in 1 hour. From Belvedere Giuel, a surprising panoramic point immersed in nature, you can admire a splendid view of the Piana Rotaliana and the village of Mezzolombardo.
