Taking care of the soil is essential for sustainable and productive agriculture, able to integrate perfectly with the surrounding environment. That’s why, in autumn, the winemakers of Rotaliana Königsberg sow mixtures of plants (grasses, legumes, and brassicas), varying according to the type of soil, which transform the vineyards into a true spectacle of colors during the spring.
This practice is called green manuring and involves growing specific plants that improve soil fertility and structure: it adds organic matter, nitrogen, and helps combat erosion and weeds. In vineyards, it keeps the soil healthy and productive.
In spring, between April and May, the rows become a mosaic of flowers and lush plants, an explosion of biodiversity that enriches the soil and nourishes the vines.
Walking through the vineyards or cycling along the Giro del Vino 50, you can admire these blooms that make the landscape even more enchanting.
