Built in 1480 by the Firmian Counts, the castle is located at the foot of Monte di Mezzocorona, surrounded by vineyards.
Just above, you can see a second castle, dug into the rock: Castel San Gottardo, the first residence of the counts.
This family controlled traffic on the ancient road of communication with the Val di Non and maintained relations with the nearby Germanic world.
The manor initially included two towers, the stately residence, the Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk and the crenellated wall.
Over the centuries, it has been enriched with other environments: among them the eighteenth-century salon, where the collection of portraits of the Firmian family is exhibited, including Carlo G. Firmian, patron and supporter of Mozart.
The heirs still inhabit this residence: for this reason the castle cannot be visited.
