When spring arrives, Rotaliana Königsberg changes its face. Vineyards turn green again, the first harvests begin in the fields and the days grow longer. The way people experience the area changes too: it’s time to walk among the vines again, cycle along the valley and stop by local wineries. If you are planning a weekend or a short getaway, here are five experiences to enjoy this season in our region.
1. HARVEST AND TASTE ZAMBANA WHITE ASPARAGUS
In spring, one of the area’s most beloved products appears in the fields of Zambana: Zambana White Asparagus. Tender and delicate, it grows for only a few weeks each year. It is part of the Slow Food Ark of Taste and protected by the local De.Co. designation. You will find it featured in many seasonal dishes in local restaurants, but you can also experience something more: with the experience “From Field to Table” you can step into the fields together with the growers. You will learn how asparagus is harvested, discover why this soil is perfect for growing it and, at the end, taste it freshly cooked. A simple and authentic way to discover the region through what grows in its soil.

2. JOIN SPRING EVENTS
Spring is also the time when the region comes together and celebrates. Many of the events we organise during this period are designed to showcase local products and the people who produce them.
On April 25, for example, the Avisian Hills become a large route through farmsteads, wine and local cuisine. During Di Maso in Maso, di Vino in Vino you walk from one stop to the next, meeting producers, tasting traditional dishes and sharing glasses of wine.
Between April and May, the asparagus season takes centre stage with the Zambana White Asparagus Festival. The village and the surrounding fields come alive with tastings, visits, harvesting experiences and moments dedicated to local cuisine.
It is the perfect time to discover the region through its flavours.
3. CYCLE ALONG THE GIRO DEL VINO 50
Rotaliana Königsberg is also known as the Wine Garden of Trentino, and in spring this landscape shows all its beauty. One of the best ways to explore it is the Giro del Vino 50, a circular cycling route of about fifty kilometres. Riding along the route, you pass through vineyards, small villages and open views over the Adige Valley. The pace is that of discovery: sometimes you stop to admire the landscape, other times to visit a winery and taste the wines produced from these very vineyards. It is an itinerary that combines nature, movement and flavour.
4. WALK THROUGH VINEYARDS AND WINERIES
When spring is in full bloom, the trails invite you to slow down. Walking through the vineyards means crossing a landscape shaped over time by people’s work: neat rows of vines, small farmhouses, historic wineries and scenic viewpoints. Some routes also combine walking with wine tasting.
With “A spasso nel tempo – panoramic trekking and more” you follow Umberto from Klinger Winery through ancient vineyards, forests and scenic trails, ending with a wine tasting inside a cave carved into the rock, accompanied by local products.
Wine Trekking Endrizzi, on the other hand, is an experience you can enjoy independently: a map and audio guide accompany you along the route through the vineyards of Endrizzi Winery, with stories, curiosities and small quizzes along the way. The walk ends in the wine shop with a tasting.
5. EXPLORE CANYONS CARVED IN THE ROCK
If you are looking for a bit more adventure, you can also discover the wild side of the region. Our via ferrata routes follow narrow canyons carved into the rock, mountain gorges and natural ravines. Metal ladders, rungs and steel cables guide you along the rock faces as you climb. If you prefer to experience it more calmly, you can join a mountain guide who will accompany you along the route and help you enjoy the experience safely.
